Thiago Alves vs John Fitch in UFC 117

The Ultimate Fighting Championship officially announced the rematch between the Brazilian Thiago "Pitbull" Alves (16-6) and American Jon Fitch (22-3-0,1 NC) for the upcoming August 7th that the UFC 117 will be held at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.

Ficht Alves and clashed earlier in June 2006 in what was the fifth edition of UFC Fight Night, taking the victory Fitch by TKO in the second assault.

Originally this rematch was scheduled for UFC 107, but was not performed because Alves suffered a knee injury. Subsequently it was agreed to UFC 111, but prior to the function tomography showed a defect in the brain of Brazil that required surgery. After it was found in 115 and that Alves UFC was recovered 100%, but due to the nature of the operation and finally decided to use extreme caution agenda for the 117.
