Rogério Minotouro was tuned to watch the title dispute between Lyoto Machida and Maurício Shogun, which happened last Saturday on Canada (UFC 113). In a chat with TATAME, Minotouro complimented a lot the performance of Shogun, who became the new UFC’s champion after knocking out the karate fighter, who was unbeaten until then.
“I thought the same as everybody… I was very impressed with the way it happened, no one expected that… No one could even imagine”, confessed Rogério, who will come back to the octagon against Jason Brilz, on UFC 114. On that same night, the former champions Quinton Jackson and Rashad Evans fought trying to get their chances to fight for the belt again, and Minotouro made his bets.
“Man, I don’t know, it will be a great fight… But I think that Quinton is stronger”, says the guy from Bahia, without giving a specific guess for the duel, which would be a rematch on Prides’ GP. “We never know what will happen. I want Shogun to win, I’m Brazilian, but a fight is a fight. Shogun has all the conditions and technique skills to beat Quinton Jackson”, bets.
TRAINING ON USA FOR UFC 114
Back to Rio de Janeiro after a short season of trainings in Salvador, Rogério will not have any time to rest. Tonight he will do his last training and embark tomorrow for the United States, where he will train along with his brother, Rodrigo Minotauro. “I’m going after my dream, trying to show where I actually belong”, warns Minotouro, who wants another knockout on Ultimate.
