Shane Carwin talks about Brock Lesnar

Interim Champion UFC heavyweight Shane Carwin believes in its power, and with good reason. After twelve fights in his career of mixed martial arts, any opponent has supported it.

Carwin will be measured back to the owner of Brock Lesnar in an anticipated unification fight at UFC 116 "vs Lesnar. Carwin" on July 3 in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Do not believe anyone on the roster of the UFC - Lesnar inclusive - can survive the heavy burden his punches.

"If I touch someone with my hands," Carwin said during a teleconference on Tuesday: "What I can knock him out. These are four-ounce gloves. Tu margin of error is very small, especially to be heavyweight."

Based on the Grudge Training Center in Colorado, Carwin and his exploits are well documented. The fighter of 35 years has never reached the second round and finished five opponents in less than a min. Its output of three minutes and forty-eight seconds against former heavyweight champion Frank Mir - which ended with a knockout in the UFC 111 in March - was his longest fight to date.

"I have a never-quit attitude," said Carwin. "This is what I like to do. I am passionate. When I go there, want to fight. That's how I see it."

In Lesnar, find a way uphill. The native of South Dakota 6-3 feet and 265 pounds was four times All-American wrestler at the University of Minnesota, where he won a national championship as a heavyweight in 2000. He had a successful transition to MMA in 2007 and take a winning streak of three straight wins the main event of UFC 116. However, Lesnar has not competed in nearly a year, while recovering from an intestinal disorder that ran the risk of life in late 2009.

"Brock is a heavyweight big, talented and athletic," Carwin said. "Those are hard to find. Are you pushing the limit."

Most expect Lesnar look for takedowns early to avoid any kind of trade stands with heavy hands of Carwin. Gabriel Gonzaga made Carwin briefly back at UFC 96, only to perish with the impact of a brutal straight right.

"I can see developing in this fight anywhere," Carwin said. "I am prepared in all areas. I have many areas where I think I've only scratched the surface. I can become a far better fighter."

Carwin said he did not appeal to anyone specifically imitate Lesnar in his training camp, preferring to trust their training partners Grudge and its affiliate, Jackson's Mixed Martial Arts in Albuquerque, NM The dynamic light heavyweight contender Jon Jones UFC and the end of the tenth season of "The Ultimate Fighter Brendan Schaub were among them.

"I only support group of men who I have around me," said Carwin. "I trust them and their ability. When you work with young men, will bring speed and movement of feet, and try to match that as a heavyweight."

Less than two weeks of his showdown with Lesnar, Carwin declared himself ready to undertake the formidable challenge that awaits.

"Every fight is your most important fight," he said. "This is definitely the biggest fight of my career, but I try to approach it differently. I think it's a great time [to fight Lesnar]. It is a challenge that I look forward to."
