BJ Penn talks about James Toney

An interesting interview with BJ Penn Fanhouse seek to recover his lightweight title Saturday at the UFC 118 in the current UFC champion Frankie Edgar. Here are some excerpts from the interview:

About his loss to Frankie Edgar

BJ Penn: People can say "you won the fight BJ" or "BJ you lost", we will speak the truth, I did not do a great fight. If I had won, he would have told Dana to give this guy a rematch. Could not live with that and would have had to do it again.

Interviewer: Did anything about the style he gave you work?

BJ Penn: I do not know if it was a style. Frank was in shape, had a good workout, I had great people behind him and managed to make a great fight plan and got the victory.

About Toney and Couture

Interviewer: I know you're a fan of boxing, what do you think it means for the sport, "that is, if they beat Randy Couture, many people might say that the MMA has taken steps backward. Is it bad for MMA if Toney beats Couture?

BJ Penn: What's worse than having the WWE champion and former UFC champion? ... That James Toney won the fight could not be worse. That is very good for the sport, he is promoting the sport, he is talking to everyone buying tickets, you can not ask for a better fighter. What Toney is doing is putting more money in the pocket of the world.
